Some people might consider this apart of the normal “Removing duplicate fonts” process, but to others this behavior is a bug. Also, if you have two fonts that are different versions, the script will still say that they are duplicate fonts. This is an issue because it’s likely that if you have the same font in different formats that it will consider the fonts to be duplicates. Because the script is only reading the PostScript Name of the font.This means that if you have hundreds or thousands of duplicate fonts…it’s going to take you a while… Export fonts into organized folder hierarchies for archiving or sending to service bureaus. With a few clicks, produce waterfalls, paragraphs, logotype, character setswhatever you want. There currently is no way to tell the script to prefer one library over any others or in other words, there’s no “Apply All” function. At any time you can click the “Quit” button to stop processing the duplicate fonts. You can select multiple libraries to remove the fonts from by holding the command key and clicking on the library choices. To remove the duplicate fonts, select the library you wish to remove the font from.If you prefer to not make a choice on any particular font you can simply press the “Okay” button without making a selection, or click the ] list item and press “Okay”.For each font match it finds it will tell you what font it is and what libraries it is found in.However, if you do have duplicate fonts in multiple libraries, you will get a message saying how many font matches it found and a little introduction with instructions on how to use the script. If there are no duplicate fonts in your FontAgent Pro libraries, you will get a message saying there are no duplicates.Click the Script menu, then select the “Remove Duplicate Fonts” item.The script is located in the Script menu (it’s the menu item that looks like a script and is between the “Window” and “Help” menu). To install the script move or copy it to /Library/Application Support/FontAgent Pro/Scripts folder. Hot of the heels of the script I wrote yesterday, I went back to work and finished a different script today that removes duplicate fonts from FontAgent Pro libraries. As you might already know, FontAgent Pro doesn’t let you import duplicate fonts into the same library, but that doesn’t prevent people from importing the same font(s) into a different library or worse, multiple libraries.
